"ASCAP protects the rights of its members by licensing and distributing royalties for the non-dramatic public performances of their copyrighted works. ASCAP's licensees encompass all who want to perform copyrighted music publicly. ASCAP makes giving and obtaining permission to perform music simple for both creators and users of music. Responsibilities: Visit venues providing musical entertainment. Prepare statement of facts regarding what was observed during visit. Job Requirements: Musical training (music degree, music lessons, etc.). Musical background (musician, disc jockey, etc.). Ability to identify popular music. Ability to travel. Willingness to appear in court proceedings as necessary to present testimony in cases investigated. Must be 21 years of age or older. Candidates must not be members of ASCAP or any other performing rights organization. Compensation: Hourly base. Reimbursement of all travel expenses (airfare, lodging, meals, etc.).
