"This work involves being able to use safe gaps and, when necessary, create safe gaps in the traffic flow to help students cross the street safely. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and experience working with children or in road safety preferred. NOTES: Training will be provided for the CJSTC-approved 8-hour traffic control procedures program and the FDOT 8-hour school crossing guard certification; however, successful completion is required for continued employment. Successful completion of the FDOT annual 2-hour school crossing guard retraining is also required for continued employment. Must be able to read and write English. Must be able to work under varying climatic conditions. Applicants must successfully complete a polygraph examination administered by a certified polygraph examiner...Position requires attendance at a morning and an afternoon shift."
