"The employee will receive on-the-job training required to become a certified specialist in poison information (CSPI). Training includes lectures, individualized reading and directed teaching. Extensive knowledge of pharmacology is desired. The specialist will be required to speak on the phone in a manner that must be clearly understood. Foreign language skills are desired, but are not required. Prior to completion of training, SPIs will have all of their work supervised and reviewed in a timely fashion, but will be required to work all shifts (days and evenings) except for overnights. Following the training period, SPIs will be expected to cover all shifts (days, evenings and overnights)...Salary range: $63,924 to $72,262 (full-time)."
