"Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (OBT) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1983 that is known for its highly effective integrated GED and business skills training & employment program for out-of-school youth ages 17-21. OBT also provides adult services in computer training, office skills training, English as a Second Language, literacy and GED classes. OBT currently operates out of two locations in Brooklyn -- Sunset Park and Bushwick/Bed-Stuy. We are currently seeking a F/T Retention Specialist. Responsible for providing frontline support to youth that have recently started working. Track former trainees’ progress and obtain required follow-up documentation. Work with Retention Coordinator in the implementation of a comprehensive retention strategy that includes working with employers and trainees. Two years relevant experience in workforce development or human resources required (knowledge of ACMS a plus, but not a requirement). Requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to cold-call employers and youth for required documents. Good computer skills necessary."
