Yarnista

yarn.jpg"A yarnista (yarn shop sales associate) loves to knit and knows a lot about hand-knitting; yarn, gauge, pattern reading, style and fit AND, most importantly, loves to share this knowledge and enthusiasm! Knitted samples and an outgoing personality are more important than a resume for this job. We're known for our amazing array of yarn and knitting accessories and for our friendly, helpful service. You must be a real team-player (examples and references will be required.) We love to help our customers choose patterns and yarns that suit their skills and style, and we're good at explaining and demonstrating knitting technique, so ability to communicate effectively and convincingly is important. Hours are part-time and flexible but include one evening until 8 p.m. (Tuesday or Thursday) and one weekend day. Great for a college student or avid knitter who wants to enter or re-enter the workforce. Our shop always feels fresh and inviting so be ready and able to move bags and boxes of yarn, lift, bend, reach, sticker, schlep. We have great fun working at Sticks and Strings -- combine your passion with your job and it doesn't feel like work at all! Generous discount, great exposure, super mentoring and lots of yarn!"
