"Austin area birthing center has an opening for a part-time, on-call nurse to help with natural childbirth in our facility on Duval Rd. This job requires someone with knowledge of birthing and patient care who is a warm, caring, mature caregiver. The on-call nature of the position requires someone who can afford to work only part-time and is very dependable and responsible. Experience with teaching breastfeeding would be a plus. You would be on-call for several 12 hour shifts per week, but only called in when there is an actual delivery. The open shifts are day shifts 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and they are Friday, Saturday and Sunday shifts. This call schedule is 3 weekends per month with one weekend per month off. You would help out with the birth and 6 to 8 hours of post-partum care for mom and baby. LVNs, RNs, doulas who are also EMTs would be appropriate candidates. Hourly wages vary with credentials and experience level."
