Glacier Mountaineers

glacier.jpg"Outward Bound, the nation's leading, nonprofit adventure-education organization, is seeking qualified mountaineers to work courses in the North Cascades (and possibly Alaska). Applicants should be able to lead trad at a 5.6 level or higher, be familiar with ice axe use and self arrest, have a firm understanding of snow and rock anchors, be knowledgeable in glacier travel and able to perform crevasse rescue and be able to present these concepts to a group of students. Outward Bound field staff are dedicated, skilled individuals who choose service, education and adventure as their career. Our field staff are the heart and soul of every Outward Bound course and their leadership, talents and insights will add depth to the course experience. Field staff return to work for our organization because of the students' lives they touch, the friendships they build with co-workers, and for the mentoring, investment, and inspiration our communities provide. Quality is at the core of our 40+ years of success. Staff members and instructors embody and exemplify our founding principles: challenge and adventure, compassion and service, social and environmental responsibility, character development and learning though experience."
