Robotics Teacher
"Phipps CDC is seeking an energetic, talented, self-motivated individual to lead an after school robotics club for middle schoolers. Phipps CDC is a successful multi-service non-profit associated with Phipps Houses that has worked quietly for many years with a focus on helping people in poor communities acquire needed educational and vocational skills to enable them to get ahead in life. Along with our educational and employment services, we provide after school, youth development, senior citizen and supported housing programs. We are looking to bring people into the organization to work in an after school program in a dynamic school with which Phipps CDC partners. We have a talented staff that is highly committed to our mission. We are looking for a highly focused person who has previous experience teaching robotics to young people and a desire to both instruct them in the technical aspects of robotics and encourage their positive efforts as program participants and as people. The successful robotics teacher will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, as well as previous experience teaching robotics and working with middle school children. The robotics teacher will teach two hours a day, two afternoons a week in a central Bronx middle school."
