Bus Aides

school_bus.jpg"The Workplace Mentoring Center of Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC matches corporate volunteers in one-to-one relationships with at-risk youth aged 12-18, from schools throughout Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn. Twice a month on alternating weeks the group meets on site at corporations where volunteers ('Bigs') and their students ('Littles') work on fun, educational and vocational activities. We are currently looking for a Bus Aide to escort the students to and from the program. Days: Wednesday afternoons. Qualifications: Must be over 18. Must enjoy working with children. Bus Aide Consultant duties include: attending a 1 hour training at the Big Brothers Big Sisters offices, gathering students at their school at the end of the school day, accompanying students (approx. 15) on a yellow school bus or van to and from the company site, supervising their behavior on the bus and contacting the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program Manager with attendance problems/concerns."
