Meals-on-Wheels Relief Driver

"Senior Services of Snohomish County is a non-profit organization that provides social and health services to more than 35,000 elderly and disabled people annually in Snohomish County, Washington. Our mission is to 'promote independence, preserve dignity and enhance the quality of life through the provision of services for older adults and people with disabilities.' Established in 1973, Senior Services has over 30 years of experience in providing programs that include: transportation; nutrition; housing; social services; information and assistance; volunteer programs; minor home repair; and a monthly newspaper. Many of these programs have been in operation since the organization's inception while others have been added in response to unmet needs in the community. SUMMARY: Assist with receiving, packing and delivering bulk foods to meal sites and provide transportation and operations support for Senior Dining Nutrition Program. This physically demanding position requires frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing in and out of delivery truck numerous times a day. Must be able to drive cargo van and larger delivery truck. Assist with delivery of food bank commodity foods to homebound seniors which involves heavy lifting and occasionally carrying boxes up flights of stairs. Assemble and pack frozen, prepared meals according to client orders and deliver to frail, homebound older adults. Put away food and supply stock when delivered to central production area. Assemble or assist with assembly of perishable and frozen foods and place in designated transport containers. Store foods according to standards to assure food safety and sanitation. Observe and report changes in client condition or situation to Assessment Specialist."
