We are an innovative violence prevention program that teaches elementary school students to be peacemakers...Peace Games Coordinators are responsible for overseeing a three-year partnership focusing on building a peaceable school using five program areas: students/curriculum, staff, volunteers, school climate, and families. Each Peace Games Coordinator works primarily at one elementary school; s/he is jointly supervised by the New York City Regional Program Manager and the school principal...An ideal candidate would possess the following: Strong supervisory and facilitation skills Ability to effectively manage conflict and pressure. Strong background with the NYCDOE. Strong background managing volunteers. K-8 teaching/school experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Some weekend and evening flexibility. Experience managing a budget. Ability to work with diverse groups of people. Creative, independent worker. A great sense of humor.
